The complete AFK Assistant settings manual. Every feature is broken down below so you can fine-tune exactly how the app simulates natural, human-like activity.

Welcome to the complete user guide for AFK Assistant, your dedicated tool for simulating user activity. This guide gives detailed instructions for configuring each feature to emulate human-like behavior on your system, so your presence is felt even when you're away from your desk.

AFK Assistant is designed with a rich set of customization options. From the frequency and type of mouse clicks to the complexity of keyboard input, each action can vary in timing and pattern. That means the simulated activity never follows a detectable rhythm that might otherwise reveal automated behavior. Every setting is randomized within a range you control.

Mouse Settings

Control how the cursor clicks and moves. Combine clicks, fast repositioning, and slow deliberate motion to build a realistic pattern of mouse activity.

Left Click

Replicates the most common mouse action — a left-button click. When enabled, the app performs clicks at random intervals within the range you specify.

Enable Left Click: Check this box to activate left-click simulation.
Clicks Per Minute: Set a range with the sliders. The app randomly chooses a number within that range each minute, adding natural variability to the click pattern.
Thinking Pauses: The app inserts random pauses between clicks, momentarily stopping as a person might while reading or considering what's on screen.

Right Click

Right-clicking brings up context menus and is a less frequent action than left-clicking. Simulating it rounds out a complete impression of user activity.

Enable Right Click: Toggle this to include right-click actions in the simulation.
Clicks Per Minute: Define the frequency range with the sliders. The app picks a random value within it each minute so the pattern looks spontaneous.
Randomization: The timing between right-clicks is randomized to avoid any discernible pattern, mimicking the varied pace at which a real user works.

Fast Mouse Movements

Quick cursor movements are characteristic of fast navigation or repositioning. Simulating them contributes strongly to the illusion of active use.

Enable Fast Movements: Activate this to simulate swift cursor movements across the screen.
Movements Per Minute: Set the bounds for how often quick movements occur. The app selects a random count within them each minute.
Movement Randomization: Start and end points span different distances and directions, so the mouse never follows a predictable path.

Slow Mouse Movements

Slow movements suggest careful reading or precise cursor placement. These nuanced actions are crucial for a believable simulation of presence.

Enable Slow Movements: Engage this to incorporate slow cursor movements into the activity pattern.
Movements Per Minute: A range controls how many slow movements happen each minute, with the app choosing a random value within it.
Intentional Deliberation: Pauses and changes in cursor speed mirror the thoughtful motion of a user engaged in detailed work.

Switch Intervals for Slow Movements

Periodically transitioning between fast and slow movements adds a layer of complexity that closely resembles natural use.

Enable Slow Switch: These toggles schedule when the app should shift to simulating slow mouse movements.
Time Interval: Set intervals in minutes for when these transitions occur, adding scheduled randomness to the simulation.
Behavioral Variation: Alternating between fast and slow movements avoids detectable patterns and further masks the automated nature of the activity.

Keyboard Settings

Simulate typing that ebbs and flows the way real keyboard input does — from quick bursts to slower, thoughtful keystrokes.

Keyboard Typing

Replicates a range of typing activity, from pressing individual keys to typing lengthy passages of text.

Enable Keyboard Typing: Check this to simulate keyboard typing activity.
Typing Source: Choose your source — random characters, or specific text loaded from a .TXT file.
Source Diversification: Reproduce predetermined text naturally or generate random keystroke sequences, adding to the authenticity of the simulated typing.

Typing Speed

Adjusting speed mirrors the natural tempo of human typing, from quick bursts to slower, more considered input.

Key Press Events Per Minute: Set the range for both fast and slow typing speeds. The app picks random values within them to regulate pace.
Speed Fluctuation: Variability keeps typing from being mechanically uniform, with random pauses between keystrokes as if a person is thinking or reading.

Switch Intervals for Slow Typing

Switching between typing speeds at set intervals breaks up monotony and simulates periods of concentrated typing versus more relaxed input.

Enable Slow Switch: Define when the app should slow down the typing simulation.
Time Interval: Establish how often, in minutes, the app transitions to slower typing, simulating a change in focus or task complexity.
Adaptive Typing: The ability to adapt typing speed to simulate different workloads enhances overall believability.

Scrolling Settings

Reproduce the stop-and-start scrolling of someone reading documents or browsing web pages, in both directions.

Vertical / Horizontal Scrolling

Scrolling through documents or web pages is common user behavior. Replicating both vertical and horizontal scrolling adds depth to the simulation.

Enable Scrolling: Activate these settings to simulate scrolling in both directions.
Scrolling Distance: Control the scroll-distance range to vary how far each action scrolls, from short scrolls to longer page navigations.
Scrolling Randomization: Varied distances and random pauses reflect the natural pauses a user takes to read or examine content.

Pause Between Scrolling Events

Pauses between scroll events simulate the stop-and-start nature of human browsing and reading.

Enable Pause: Activate this to introduce pauses between individual scroll events.
Pause Duration: Adjust the minimum and maximum pause range to control how frequent and how long these pauses are.
Intentional Pausing: Randomly varying pause duration and frequency keeps scrolling from occurring at a constant, predictable rate.

Browser Tab Settings

Changing tabs signals active research or multitasking. These settings cycle through browser tabs in a realistic, unpredictable way. (Available on Pro and Ultimate.)

Tab Changing

Lets AFK Assistant automatically switch between browser tabs to imitate active browsing.

Enable Tab Changing: Check this to allow the app to switch between browser tabs.
Choose Browser: Select from the supported browsers to tailor tab switching to your preferred one.
Tab Switching Mechanics: The app randomizes both the time between switches and the number of tabs, mimicking unpredictable browsing.

Idle Time Between Tab Changes

Varying the wait before changing tabs avoids a pattern that could look non-human.

Idle Time Range: Set a minimum and maximum idle time before the app switches tabs, adding an unpredictable element.
Idle Time Randomization: Random idle times mean tab changes never follow a set schedule, imitating inconsistent browsing habits.

Number of Tabs to Switch

The number of open tabs a user cycles through varies a lot, so simulating a realistic range matters for authenticity.

Tabs to Switch: Adjust the slider to set the maximum number of tabs the app cycles through in a session.
Tab Count Variability: A random count within your range makes every tab-switching session differ from the last.

App Switching Settings

Switching between applications signals multitasking and active system use. (Available on Pro and Ultimate.)

App Switching

Simulates switching between the various applications open on your computer.

Enable App Switching: Check this to simulate switching between applications.
Number of Apps to Switch: Use the slider to define the range for how many applications the app should switch between.
Application Switching Dynamics: The app randomly determines which and how many applications to switch between, plus the timing, for a natural impression of multitasking.

Idle Time Between App Switches

As with browser tabs, the time between switching applications should vary to mimic actual user behavior.

Idle Time Range: Use the sliders to establish the idle time before the app switches between applications.
Idle Time Variation: A random duration within your range keeps the timing of application switches unpredictable.

Idle Time Settings

Let AFK Assistant run only when it's needed by detecting when your computer goes idle. (Available on Ultimate.)

Idle Detection

Detecting when the computer is idle, and starting the simulation only then, keeps AFK Assistant operating only when necessary — preserving the authenticity of the activity.

Enable Idle Detection: Toggle this to monitor the system's idle state.
Idle Time: Specify how long the system must be inactive before the app engages and begins simulating actions.
Intelligent Activation: The app determines when the system is idle and starts simulating activity, seamlessly creating the illusion of continuous use without unnecessary operation.

Saving Your Settings

After customizing your settings, save them by clicking the Save button. Your configuration is applied immediately, and AFK Assistant begins simulating activity based on your preferences. You can revisit the settings panel any time to make adjustments or try different configurations.

Tip: Try one category at a time. Enable mouse activity first, confirm it behaves the way you expect, then layer in keyboard, scrolling, and switching for a fuller pattern.

Resetting to Default Settings

To return to the standard configuration, use the Reset to default settings button. It restores the carefully tuned defaults that ship with AFK Assistant. This is useful if you want to start fresh or feel your current settings are no longer effective.
